Since that time, more than 20,000 Alex’s Lemonade Stands have been held across the country. While volunteers hold stands throughout the year (often setting them up indoors, in cold weather seasons), National Lemonade Days is a time when volunteers everywhere can join forces as they hold stands simultaneously across the country. Fri 9/20 | Blame Sally - Sebastopol Premium Seating: $25, General Advance: $20. The 4 women who make up rising San Francisco-based folk band Blame Sally have some experience with improbable complexities & contradictions. Almost everything about the history of the group is contrary to conventional wisdom. For one thing, they put their individual careers aside to start the group when they were in their late 30s & 40s the age at which bands traditionally are supposed to break up & begin solo careers. For another, this is obviously an all-woman band "girl groups" usually being the province of youthful upstarts, not mature singer-songwriters. Splitting the frontwoman status among each of the 4 members goes against the agreed-upon maxim that every group needs a single focal point. And didn't they get the memo that women, in particular women in show biz, are supposed to be packing it in at this point, not making introductions? Actually, they did get that memo & promptly tossed it into the circular file.
